The Anatomy of Altered States : An Informational Talk and Embodied Experience
This will be low-key, informative, surprising, fun. We draw on our various areas of expertise to explain, and to some degree help you to feel, the ways in which the ability to change our perception and cognition is fundamental to fuller human being. An informal event in three parts:
Persistence Hunting, Shamanism, and the origins of altered states in our species. A discussion of yang-centered modalities based on firsthand experience with the indigenous traditions of the Kalahari.
The contours of ethical practice in a contemporary context. Engaging with the difficult questions around psychedelics that most of us would rather not ask.
Feeling and embodying the yin aspects of healing. Moving toward balance between body and mind, struggle and surrender.
