Therapeutic processes for individuals & couples

{+}

Self

To be ourselves more fully & express ourselves more completely.

{+}

Other

To perceive with greater depth & understand with greater compassion.

Relationship

To find a richer balance & build a stronger foundation.

We can conceive of a relationship as its own entity with its own needs, patterns, and characteristics.

It is formed by two people, sometimes more, but it is always greater than the sum of its parts.

Similarly we can conceive of ourselves as composite beings, bodies enmeshed with minds, complex nodes of perception and processing that have evolved over hundreds of millions of years to be far more than the sum of our individual components.

If you’ve ever done therapy of any kind, you must know that when we work on ourselves we must work to understand, but also we must strive for more than understanding.

If you’ve ever struggled in an intimate relationship, you must know that when we work on our relationships we must work on ourselves, but also we must strive to nurture something beyond ourselves.

This is why we work at the intersections between body and mind, human and nature, individual and relationship.

We are here to help you develop complementary perspectives and practices, a balance between flow and focus, that will allow you to address your difficulties at their source.

Individual Therapy

We work with individuals from many walks of life, people who are looking to make significant and lasting change.

Whether or not you have a partner, whether or not they are joining you on this journey, the work always starts here and now.

Couples Therapy

We work with couples and their constituent parts, which is to say the two of you — together and separately.

There is always a dance between my self and the other, between my work and theirs; between each of us and the partnership we form.

We do not offer a standardized package or format for working together.

What we do offer is a free intake call to discuss your situation in depth, after which we will create a proposal specific to your needs.

We are here to see more clearly, move more freely, and feel more deeply.

FAQs

  • The vast majority of our clients connect with us for therapy online. That said, we have one base in Basque Country and another in Valencia (Spain) and regularly organize in-person experiences for people looking to enrich their therapeutic experience.

  • We work in different ways with different people, so there is no single answer here.

    We offer a free consultation call to discuss your situation, and then create a detailed proposal for a focused therapeutic process based on your needs.

    Money here is ultimately symbolic of time and attention, and just as we invest in your process, we ask you to do the same.

    As with all aspects of the therapeutic process, we seek to navigate the financial dimension in a way that feels significant, solid, and nurturing.

    We are proud to work with people from very different social and economic contexts, and offer a sliding scale to accommodate those who need it.

  • Our differences often manifest not just in our difficulties but also in our approach to resolving them. This is fine.

    After all, we can only ever start in one place: wherever we are today.

  • Yes. Always both.

    But…what do you have control over? What can you fix? Always only you. So start there, and see where it leads you.

    One good concept to keep in mind is that the quality of your intimate relationships will never be better than the quality of your relationship with yourself.

    This doesn’t mean you have to put your head down and suffer through a horrible relationship — you shouldn’t do that — but it does mean that until you do some significant work on yourself, you are unlikely to be able to create or sustain anything better.

  • Ah, if only there were a magic formula! It generally requires a process of careful introspection, observation, communication, and quite a lot of trial and error to find a real answer here.

    When considering whether or not to start on this journey, however, we can ask you to consider this: would spending more time, attention, and energy on this relationship feel more like an investment, or a waste? You might want to take action accordingly.
